Wow, nice Chuck! That raised #5 on the handle skillet looks like one I picked up not long ago. What's the bottom look like?

Re: Today's Load

See that blemish on the right side of the top of the lid? It's a casting mark and there is a dimple and some Pockets around that as well from the casting. Should I try to eliminate the blemish by...

Re: Today's Load

Re: Unknown Skillet

Got this going on now. Unbelievable ease without disturbing the original casting. This was a test run before taking it to the next level. Very happy.

Re: Unknown Skillet

WOW, I saw that but it said outside heat ring. Man, that's old. The roughness of the manufacturing I thought shows that as well. Are there many around?

Re: Unknown Skillet

Going from left to right, very unevenly ground edges and rough spot in casting. Each side of handle is the same.

Best Find of My New Two Month Old Passion

Found these at a garage sale for $30. Perfect as I can tell other than normal light wear. Badass, my heart started pounding when I looked at the bottom of that skillet. Had to keep a straight face...

Anyone Familiar with These Garage Sale Finds?

Just picked this up for $20 at a garage sale. Excellent shape right out of the kitchen. Good deal? Wasn't really made in 1887 though was it? Haha. Anyone know approx date and maker? Also found a...

Re: Anyone Help Identify Skillet?

This is what I'm looking at. Someone had some fun with a machine. What do you think of all this. Going to keep and use it and love that it's old and mine anyway. Cooking surface is awesome.

Re: Anyone Help Identify Skillet?

This is what I notice so far. Looks like someone's been at it with a pretty harsh machine. The handle has been ground into on one side. And there are gouges on each side of the seven. Same thing on...

Re: Beginning Hard Slow Baked Seasoning Question

Looking much better, like taking my time and seeing each thin coat solidify. I like the black used look, should have put it in the oven after reworking it and slowly bumped it up to 500 then back...
