Smile Re: Cast iron skillets with heat ring

I took a mini level and put it all over the bottom of both of my skillets, and they are level. I don't think it will affect my cooking with them. They did a great job cooking.

Re: Cast iron skillets with heat ring

I have a ceramic top stove. Cold, they set flat. When cooking and they heat up they don't set flat. I thought the heat ring was to level it, even if the bottom of the skillet was a little warped.

Re: Wagner Ware Skillet

It didn't list "Pie" in the description. It did have a picture of the back of it though. I thought someone would definitely outbid me on that.

Re: Is a sticky cooking surface after seasoning normal?

I didn't strip this one. It was nice with no build up. I washed it with real hot water and dish soap, then seasoned it. The cooking surface has a dull finish. Maybe I need to strip it with oven...

Re: Is a sticky cooking surface after seasoning normal?

Will cooking with it make it better, or should I try re-seasoning it?

Re: Bought a new/old stock #8 cast iron skillet

I believe I bought a boat anchor. The #8 wobbles. The wobble is in the center. Anyway to correct this? It is even nastier than the picture.

Re: Bought a new/old stock #8 cast iron skillet

Shipping on Ebay is high. I didn't think it look unused, but I didn't know. I paid 15.00 for it. I just needed to replace an old one that my mother used.

Re: No-Name 12 7/16" cast iron skillet.

No-Name 12 7/16" cast iron skillet.

I just got a cast iron skillet from Ebay, and was wondering if anyone could identify the maker. It has at the 6 position 12 7/16 in. and right under it the number 10. It has an inset heat ring.
