Re: Cast Iron Diamond, what is it?

Doug,
Do you know of any other pictures of that middle sad iron heater? I passed on this heater recently because it did not match the one in the BB p175 and I was not spending $100. The one on p175...

Re: Aebleskiver Pan

Thanks for mentioning about cooking meatballs in this pan. I like to try and get a crusty outer edge all around the meatball and have been struggling to do this in a flat bottom pan for years. Now I...

Cast Iron Hot Dog Cooker

I saw an add for a Cast Iron Hot Dog Cooker and wondered what it could be. It was an old bread stick pan. But I think calling it a hot dog cooker is a better description.

Wagner using Erie 2nd series skillets as patterns

This is a just a one to one test.

I have a Wagner arc #9 nickel plated skillet and a Erie 2nd series #9. I was curious about the claims that Wagner (and I guess many other foundries) used the...

Re: Hotel skillet

I forgot to say that it also has Made in USA in the middle.
Its been in the lye bucket for 2 days. I should have a better picture in a day or two. It is a monster. I had to add more water to my tub...

Re: Hotel skillet

I think I just got the grandchild of your pan. Lodge must have decided that after years of producing the unmarked one it was safe to put the labels on it. Mine is the exact same size and weight as...

Re: Any guesses on this 16" skillet

I searched but could not find a Lodge that was 4" tall (now that is assuming that the original measurement was correct, which is not guaranteed).
Could you point me to one if you already have a...

Any guesses on this 16" skillet

This sold for $245 so I did not get it even though it was the perfect size for my round grill. I just could not figure out who made it. It just did not match anything I could find.
It was described...

Re: skillet rack

I have the rack pictured and have been using it for about 2 months. I like it for my most used skillets, I'm just careful placing and removing the pans. I made some loud clanging sounds when I first...

Well I just got 2 cracked items from ebay and USPS today. The Wagner arc #10 griddle broke in transit. The handle cracked right off. The Wagner Ware #13 arrived with an old crack near the handle. I...

Re: Ash Tray or Pan

I'm not saying that I would do this for this piece. But, other than lead being used in a pan, I thought a lye bath followed by electrolysis would remove all organic matter from a pan. So I've been...

Depending in how much cleaning or scrubbing determines if and how much oil I might put back on the pan. Also, if the oven is already hot, I'll lightly coat the whole pan and wipe it extremely dry and...

Re: My first cast iron pizza

I just measured my grill (its a 1950s clay Japanese egg type) and my #10 just fits, so I'm going to try that. I just can't get the temp above 500 (600 if I really want to push it). The clay can't...

Plan ahead and not just decide I want a pizza and make up what I put in it as I prepare it.

I like deep dish pizza, the dough being more bread like than thin and crisp. Its just the homemade style...

Re: Any quesses?

I went back and looked at that number 9 again. Your right. They should advertise the pan as an ancient celtic cooking implement found deep in the bog.

Re: Do others feel compelled to correct Ebay ads

I think its worth the risk. I feel bad if someone buys an item believing the add, so maybe you stopped that from happening.
