I used a pan to melt lead to cast an aileron counter weight. At the time i bought a new cheap Taiwan pan. I destroyed the pan when the project was finished. So it does happen.

Sorry Doug what I should have said. I joined imgur and logged in to it. When I click on an imgur link on CIC the image goes to black screen. It also did that originally.

Sorry Sean got a little mixed up on who was the Wapak. collector. After three hours in the soup I was able to chip the crud off the logo. It is Wapak with the side way check under it,

Doug I can read the logo on the Erie. I can see there is a logo under the crud on what I was told is a Wapak. What does the bottom of a Wapak look like? Both skillets are in the soup.

On ebay I found at least 2 that were identical down to the "R" on the handle. The antique name items had different casting patterns .

Doug Here is the picture. The pan is 14 inches total length. The pan measures 9 5/8 inches square at the top of the sides.. The inside depth is 1 5/8 inches. The wall thickness is just under 1/8...

Sean, The skillet is filing in like you said. The pitted area feels like a new Lodge the sharp edges are gone. The skillet is nice to use as it is lighter.

Mystery solved. Spoke to a lady in Hungry Horse Montana that was advertising an old set of cast iron made in Korea. The Lids are identical to the ones I have.

Here is the picture. The pan is about 9 inches square. It is a thin wall casting. I expected it to say Wagner under the crud. I think I have seen this font R on other Wagner's.

Un Marked Square Pan
Picked up a square pan. looks old thin wall casting. The only marking is a letter R at the root of the handle on the bottom. Will get some pictures when it is out of the tank.
