Re: Sidney Rimmed Pot

There doesn't seem to be a lot of these, at least from what I can tell from the reference books and the internet. I would think that there must have been a lot more labor to make one of these, than...

Sidney Rimmed Pot

I got this at an auction over the weekend. Supposed to be a phone/facebook auction, but I was never able to get on it at auction time. I had placed a bid by phone before the auction. I thought I was...

Re: DuraWare P5 Cornstick Pan

Thank you for the info. Any idea who made it? It seems strange that a company would make a copy and put a name one it. On the other hand I suppose it would give it some cred in the market. I'm always...

DuraWare P5 Cornstick Pan

Went to a flea market today that had a lot of CI. Mostly modern Lodge, BSR or unknown, but a few things I hadn't seen before. I saw more corn stick pans today than I could count. Again, mostly Lodge,...

Thanks! I thought I had remembered reading something like that, but couldn't find it.

Old Gem Pan

I saw this one in an antique mall. Really heavy, and gate marked. For $79 I passed.

Moulders Mark?

I saw this at an antique mall. It's a BSR DO. I would of got more pictures, but the store owner was giving me the evil eye. For $35 without a lid I passed. Not sure if the mark adds to the value.

Re: CI I Have Had for Years

The only thing I can see for sure is the "A" on the back. There may be a "7" scribed below the "A", but I would need to get some oven cleaner on it. There may be another scribed "7" on the top, where...

CI I Have Had for Years

Back when I was young and poor, flea markets and estate sales were the places to go to find things I needed, for a lot less than you could buy new. My wife and I had a ragtag assortment of pots and...

Re: Griswold 8 Tite Top DO. A Few Questions.

I was wondering about that, but the only caveat in the cleaning section was not to use a self cleaning oven on enamel. There is no rust, so I wouldn't bother with electrolysis. The enamel is stained...

Griswold 8 Tite Top DO. A Few Questions.

This stuff keeps following me home lately. Found this at an antique mall that usually has nothing but new Lodge marked "Antique" and priced for more than I can buy it new.

The top of the lid is...

Dutch Oven ID Help

Just got this one this morning. The only mark is the 8 on the lid. The loop handle on the lid is noticeably thicker on one side than the other. The bottom of the handles on the pot are very...

Griswold/Puritan Waffle Iron, Made This Way?

I bought this at an estate sale a few months ago. It came with a short base. My questions is, was this made like this, or is this parts of two different waffle irons? It came with a short base....

Re: Pieces from a Recent Estate Tag Sale

In all my hunting of estate sales and flea markets, I have never seen even one gem pan. Lots of corn stick and bread roll pans, but no gem pans. Great find.

Re: Handy Dan Copy?

I have read that these are a bit rare, I have never seen one before. I have seen one picture on line with a ruler next to it and it seems to be the same size. I'll get around to cleaning it...

Re: Handy Dan Copy?

All the pictures of these that I have seen are marked. From what I have found on line, these were made in the late 1980s, not long before BSR closed. It seems strange that someone would go to the...

Handy Dan Copy?

Picked this up at a thrift store. It looks like a BSR Handy Dan, or Dandy, I've seen it both ways on the internet, but it is totally unmarked. Any ideas?

Two One Notch Lodge Skillets

Picked these up at an antique mall yesterday. Cost about $36 for the pair, which is probably too much, but these are the first one notch skillets I have seen.

Re: PittyPat's Porch Skillet

Here are pictures of mine. When I described these as being seconds, I meant that they were made as seconds, not that they were seconds from the normal production line. Not much care was taken in...

Re: PittyPat's Porch Skillet

I can't answer your question, but I have thought some of these might be bsr. I have one. Mine is much worse than yours. The casting is missing part of the ring, with a lot of voids. It almost seems...

Gate Marked Griddle

Probably nothing real special here, except that it's the first and so far only Gate Marked CI I own. The flaws give it some character, or at least more that some of the mass produced stuff. I got it...

Odd Ring on Top Rim of Skillet.

I saw these at an estate sale, and did not buy them. The two skillets were identical, except for the rust. They have a strange ring on the top of the rim. Never seen something like that. Price was...

Re: A Few Recent Fakes, and One Old Find

The one I went to was in North Georgia. The seller said the CI mostly came from his late dad's barn. Most of it was skillets, and they were mostly BSR and Wagner. At least one still had the paper...
