yeah, given the dates of when w.c. davis was operating under that name i suspect it is from the late 1840's to the early to mid 1860's.

these are shown in the blue book under the Favorite section... but they made three sizes of these honeycomb shaped gem pans... the handled one with the '7' on the handle, a 10 and a 13 cup gem pan with the same shaped cups but with handles on each end (more like a normal gem pan).

I actually have pictures of a 13 cup pan... I had it in my hands and had the chance to buy it for $150... but the condition was pretty rough, lots of pitting on the top surfaces.
