Yet Another Seasoning Question

I learned the hard way not to put too much Crisco on a pan before it goes in to the oven for initial seasoning. Now I think I'm going too far the other way; after the initial wipeoff after application, I mean before it goes in to the oven, do I continue rewiping every 10 minutes while it's in the oven? It looks so dry now after 3 re-wipes that I'm tempted to add another light smear of Crisco. After all, what does "repeated rounds" mean if not reapplying the oil/fat?

Thanks very much. I appreciate your expertise!

There shouldn't be a need to check and re-wipe more once during each baked on application.

It's better to completely bake on three layers you think might be too little than one that's too much.

Right, but does that mean letting t it cool after an hour in the oven, and then reapplying the oil/fat?

I appreciate your patience ... I do learn, if slowly!

If you're certain the layer you just applied is baked completely dry, which is kind of difficult when the pan is hot.
